CatPower’s LP Dear Sir.
Highlighting the conceptual and creative aspects of problem-solving, the intention was to explore the grammar of communication design using Kumar’s circular methodology through the redesign of the sleeve/packaging of a vinyl record. For this purpose, the musical artist Chan Marchal, better known as Cat Power and her first album Dear Sir from 1995, was chosen.
Following this methodology, a data search was carried out on the artist, the album, and the cultural context. From these data, an analysis and synthesis were carried out to arrive at the final product presented here.
